μ•ˆλ…•!
Annyeong!

Today μ–Έλ‹ˆ Unnie πŸ˜† will be sharing about how to have bleached blonde hair without damaging your hair! Having blonde hair can said to be classified as a hardly achievable item in asian's to-do-list. It is because bleaching has always been known to cause damage to our hair, let alone bleaching dark asian hair for a few times to reach platinum blonde.

I have actually made you youtube video for the ease of you lazy bums but here's a post which includes all the information you might want to refer back after watching the video. The video is right at the bottom so if you would like to head right down to the video, just scroll down to the end!

I had actually bleached my hair before but that was about 1 1/2 years ago hence you can see that the bottom part is kind of blonde even after colouring it numerous times. Bleaching is necessary not only when you want to get blonde hair but also if you would like to have vivid colours on unless you are going for brown / red shades.

The main ingredient in hair bleach is hydrogen peroxide which is known to cause your hair to loose it's protection. When hair pigments are being degraded, hair will loose it's moisture, softness and smoothness. Well, this has been the tradition but not anymore with Olaplex.

Many stylist swears by Olaplex which is the leading and first of it's kind! It is not a type of conditioning treatment that superficially repair the out layer of hair stands for a short temporary period. Instead, what Olaplex does is it rebuilds broken hair, reconnecting the broken bonds into the state of your natural hair.

"Our simple three-step process includes a patented active ingredient that works on a molecular level to seek out broken bonds in the hair that are caused by chemical, thermal, and mechanical damage. You can use Olaplex to restore compromised hair, or add it to another service to provide the ultimate breakage insurance."

The three steps of Olaplex process:

The get the blonde shade, my hair was bleached twice. It is recommended to add Olaplex into the bleach itself instead of going through a process after the bleaching as it is not a conditioning treatment. After application of bleach, my hair was wrapped around with a cling wrap to create heat and also trap the moisture. This process was repeated twice to lighten the shade. It is lucky thair my hair lightens nicely after 2 times of bleaching. Some people might require more. It depends on each person's hair condition.

When the bleaching process has been completed, my hair was washed with the magical purple shampoo. Once hair are bleached, it might have a staining yellow which are not favourable. The purple shampoo helps to remove the yellowness and keep your hair to a platinum blonde colour which looks much better.

Now, what's left to do is just blow dry and I'm done! Tadaa! *scroll down to see that beautiful shade*

Some people might not like it at first sight but give it a few more look and I'm sure you will change your opinion! <3

That's right. It is actually a very simple process to have a healthy blonde hair from black asian hair with Olaplex as your ultimate hair protection.

Here, I would also like to share some answers to questions you might have in your head. Something to ponder about before going platinum blonde!

Concerns before bleaching:
1. Do consult with your stylist and check your hair and scalp condition before bleaching.
2. Make sure to ask the type of product which they use for bleaching.
3. Get an experienced stylist as bleaching is not an easy game.
4. Suitability of blonde with your look.
5. Are you alright with the maintenance of blonde hair? As our hair roots will always be black, you might need to bleach it again after 2 - 4 weeks to maintain blonde.

Care after bleaching:
1. Prevent from using warm water for hair wash / heat utensils such as hair dryer / curler as it will deteriorate your hair condition.
2. Use mask / deep conditioner at least twice a week.
3. Invest in a good oil for hair repair. e.g. Argan Oil.
4. Use purple shampoo to remove the yellowness from your hair.
5. Trim the ends of your hair occasionally.

Well, I hope the above helps! If I missed out any points, please do not hesitate to let me know! Just leave a message right below and I will get back to you. :)
